Matthew is currently Principal Harpist with Boise Philharmonic, Opera Idaho, and Ballet Idaho. He was previously Acting Principal Harpist with the Utah Symphony/Utah Opera for the 2013-2014 season. He also holds Principal Harp positions with the Lakes Area Music Festival and Grand Teton Music Festival. He is a permanent substitute harpist with Seattle Symphony, Utah Symphony/Utah Opera, Spokane Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Walla Walla Symphony, Billings Symphony, Yale Philharmonia, Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, and Anchorage Symphony. He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard’s Pre College. Matthew has performed in top concert venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He has performed with Kristin Chenoweth, Ben Folds, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Johnny Mathis, Emmanuel Pahud, James Taylor, and other leading musical icons. As a member of the American Harp Society and Vice-President of the Boise Chapter, he was asked to perform for harp communities such as the Connecticut Chapter of the American Harp Society and Lyon & Healy West. He co-curates and performs with the Modern Classics Chamber Music Series at the Sapphire Room in the Riverside Hotel, Boise, Idaho. Matthew has performed concertos with the Boise Philharmonic, Boise Baroque Orchestra, Chamber Music of the Springs in Colorado, and Nova Chamber Music Series. He received a perfect score for a grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts in 2012.  Matthew has held teaching posts as Adjunct Professor of Harp at the Weber State University in Utah and Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho. He currently has a thriving private harp studio at Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy in Boise, Idaho. You can also find Matthew playing brunch on the weekends at the Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho. When he is not playing harp, he enjoys going to the local independent movie theater “The Flicks”, riding his bike, and traveling.
